Atlanta Hawks
Don't start worrying yet Heat Fans. The Hawks are 3-0, but lets not worry yet. The Hawks return the same team we are used to over the past 2 years. They are still rather young, but more experienced. They have big energy bodies and not as much down low. A lot like Miami. But you can go down every position and bench spot and the Heat hold the advantage.
Miami should take over that top spot in the division sometime right around November 10th. Atlanta has a back to back verse Cleveland and Detroit, and come back a couple days later with games verse two younger western conference teams. The they get back to business against the Magic and Bucks. I see some losses in there, and we have seen the best from this Atlanta team. The only thing they have on Miami is continuity, and that won't go too far.

Three Down, Big Three To Go
Night One was horrific. A summer of dreams coming true for Heat Fans, all cultivated on a night of disaster. But after one game of an 82 game season, there was actually good things that can be taken from the night one loss. One, Lebron basically did it on his own with Dwayne Wade having his first appearance on the court all preseason. Dwayne was cold, Bosh was overwhelmed and the Heat brought the game down to the wire. Boston was 99% healthy and they were able to let Miami slip back in in the final minutes. Shaq and Jermaine O'Neal were the stand ins for an injured Kendrick Perkins, and they played a solid job at fixing the hole created by the Perkins injury. That was one game. One game, one loss. One game that reminded Heat fans of last year, with one guy with the ball in his hands, and coming up just short.
Night two and three made Heat Fans forget all about that. I was present for game two in Philadelphia, and the energy was never able to develop for Sixer fans. The Heat seemed to work all game against a newly coached Sixer team. The Sixers are very young and athletic, but this new Miami Heat team started showing flashes of what we expected from them in game one. Bosh had his post game working very well. Lebron was a force with his left hand all night. So strong, physical, just dangerous all night. Wade came on early and it lasted all game. This is what we expected and we started seeing signs of how great of a season this can be.
But nights two and three aren't about the big three. It was about the guys around them. Wade, Bosh, and Lebron all took a little less money to sign these guys. They signed because they want to win. With the right combinations that can surely work. At the end of the preseason, the Heat lost Mike Miller, go to guy number one beyond the big three. I was convinced that besides Udonis Haslem of course, he was going to be the reason for success. Well without him it could have been an issue with the outside game. James Jones has been incredible from the outside, everything we could have expected from Miller. Beyond Jones, Eddie House has been playing a lot of minutes. He adds an instant spark to a team that sometimes needs it.
On night four of this new exciting NBA season, Game three looked a lot like game two, but with a much tougher opponent. The same starting 5, and the same pieces off the bench. Eddie House didn't do much scoring but again he was a much needed spark. Udonis Haslem brings that same intensity to the front court. The point is that this season will be a success with one thing.
Erik Spolestra had it posted on the board for the team before game 3. Together. If all 15 guys work together, this could be a successful season. 15 strong, all season long.
